Questions people ask Cole
You trust me to protect your assets. But your largest asset may be at risk. Life insurance, retirement income, long-term care and disability coverage are offered through DAG Insurance, an independent brokerage, and Cole's partner team at Highpoint Insurance takes the calls.
Is this my home and auto insurance company?
No. This is separate from your home, auto and farm policies, and nothing here changes them. Life insurance, retirement income (annuities), long-term care and disability coverage are offered through DAG Insurance, an independent insurance brokerage. When you book a call, you talk with Cole's partner team at Highpoint Insurance.
Who will I talk to if I book a call?
Someone on Cole's partner team at Highpoint Insurance. They can shop coverage from more than one insurance company through DAG Insurance. They go over your number with you, answer your questions, and you decide what happens next. You pick the time.
Do the calculators give me a price?
No. They show an estimate of your gap in today's dollars, the math behind it, and where each default number comes from. They don't quote a price, recommend a product, or say whether you'd qualify for coverage. For real prices, book a call with Cole's partner team.
How much life insurance do I need?
Start with what your family would need: your income for the years they'd depend on it, the mortgage, other debts, college, and final expenses. Then subtract the life insurance you already have, including coverage through work. A common rule of thumb from Life Happens is 10 to 15 times your income, plus $100,000 per child for college. The life calculator does this math with your numbers.
What does a nursing home cost in Oklahoma?
In 2025, the middle cost of a shared room in an Oklahoma nursing home was $84,315 a year, and a private room was $93,075. Assisted living was $73,800 a year, and full-time help at home (44 hours a week) was $75,504. That's from the CareScout Cost of Care Survey 2025. Costs in your town may be higher or lower.
Does Medicare pay for long-term care?
Not for most of it. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says Medicare doesn't cover most long-term care costs. The care calculator shows what care would cost in your state and how long your savings would cover it. For Medicaid questions, talk with an elder law attorney.
What is the Medicaid 5-year look-back?
When someone applies for Medicaid to pay for long-term care, Medicaid looks back 5 years at money and property they gave away. That's federal law. Cole's partner team doesn't give Medicaid advice. For planning around the look-back, talk with an elder law attorney.
How long do disability plans wait before they pay?
Many plans wait about 3 months, or 90 days, before they start paying, according to the Council for Disability Awareness. During that time your bills come out of savings. Many work plans pay about 60 percent of your pay before taxes. Check your own plan for its waiting period and amount.
How much can I take from retirement savings each year?
One research estimate from Morningstar (December 2025) put a starting withdrawal of about 3.9 percent a year, raised for inflation after that, at about a 90 percent chance of lasting a 30-year retirement. It's an estimate, not advice, and a longer retirement may need less. The retirement calculator shows what it means for your numbers.
Will someone keep calling me if I run a calculator?
Only if you ask. Running a calculator doesn't sign you up for calls. You can book a call, ask for your number by email, or do nothing. Calls and texts only happen if you check the box that says we can, and you can reply STOP to any text.
